Vivid Sydney: Tripping the light fantastic

She’s good-looking, has a sense of fun and loves being the centre of attention. That’s Sydney on a normal day. But for the past two weeks she’s been in overdrive, cranking up her 1000-megawatt smile for the Vivid Light Festival.

Sydney does public art events pretty well and I always look forward to Vivid — the festival of light, music and ideas — with its amazing interactive light installations and projections around Sydney Harbour. This year the centrepiece was ‘PLAY’ — a 15 minute video projection onto the Opera House sails. Here’s a few stills from that sequence.

I was so mesmerised by this, I didn’t get much further, so sadly no photos of the light walk, Customs House, the MCA and Darling Harbour.
